GIP – German Internet Panel
The German Internet Panel (GIP) is a longitudinal study at the University of Mannheim and the central infrastructure project of the Collaborative Research Center (SFB) 884 "Political Economy of Reforms", which is funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG). The study is led by Prof. Dr. Blom, Professor for Data Science at the School of Social Sciences. The GIP researches individual attitudes and preferences relevant in political and economic decision-making processes. For this purpose, 4,000 people in Germany are regularly interviewed online on a variety of topics. To ensure an accurate representation of the general population in Germany, the GIP applies and develops cutting-edge scientific methods. The data collected are the empirical foundation of the scientific research of the SFB-projects.
