Q: There is no deadline indicated in the call for applications. Can I still apply for the advertised position?
A: Advertised positions on our website are vacant and are open until filled. As soon as a position has been filled, the advertisement will be removed from the website. Please check the website for all current vacancies.
Q: Can I apply even though I might not be able to start immediately?
A: Yes. Please indicate in your letter when you would be available for the position.
Q: Can I apply for the doctoral position even if I have not yet completed my Master's degree at the time of application?
A: Yes. Please indicate in your letter the expected date of completion of your studies.
Q: Can I apply for the post-doc position even if I have not yet completed my doctoral degree at the time of application?
A: Yes. Please indicate in your letter the expected date of completion.
Q: Are unofficial transcripts sufficient for the application?
A: Yes, but official transcripts and an official degree certificate need to be submitted if your application has been successful.
Q: Do I need to send in letters of recommendation?
A: Letters of recommendation are not necessary for the application. You may be contacted at a later stage to provide names that can be contacted for references. This decision is at the discretion of each project leader.
Q: Is there an interview process?
A: Interviews of selected applicants may take place at the discretion of the project leader.
Q: Can I apply for multiple projects?
A: Yes. You may apply for a specific project, a project group, or the SFB in general. Please specify in your letter of motivation why you apply for the SFB and/or for specific projects.
