Laura Pohlan joined ZEW’s research department “Labour Markets, Human Resources and Social Policy” in December 2013. She participates in the Center for Doctoral Studies in Economics (CDSE) PhD programme at the University of Mannheim and her dissertation is supervised by Professor Gerard van den Berg, PhD (University of Mannheim). Her research interests include empirical labour market research and applied microeconometrics. In the research area “Inclusive Labour Markets” her main focus is on the evaluation of labour market policies and the analysis of labour market frictions. She is currently working on the development and the estimation of a structural equilibrium job search model to evaluate a uniform minimum wage in Germany.

Laura Pohlan studied economics at the University of Mannheim from 2008 to 2013. In her Master’s thesis she investigated the impact of job creation schemes on the unemployment duration in East Germany.
