Prof. Dr. Goran Glavaš is an Assistant Professor (Juniorprofessor) for Text Analytics at the University of Mannheim. He obtained his doctorate in April 2014 from the University of Zagreb, where he worked as a researcher in the Text Analysis and Knowledge Engineering Lab. He joined the University of Mannheim as a postdoctoral researcher in October 2015 and has been appointed Juniorprofessor in September 2017. His research encompasses statistical natural language processing, with focus on computational semantics, multilingual and cross-lingual NLP, and information extraction. He has authored more than 50 peer-reviewed publications in the areas of natural language processing and information retrieval. He is a member of the Association for Computational Linguistics, a PC member of major AI and NLP conferences (ACL, EACL, EMNLP, COLING, AAAI, IJCAI), a reviewer for renowned journals (Computational Linguistics, Natural Language Engineering, Artificial Intelligence Review, etc.) and an organizer of the Workshop on Graph-Based Natural Language Processing (TextGraphs).
