Professor Dr. Hanna Bäck
Hanna Bäck is associate professor and senior lecturer at the Department of Political Science at Lund University. She was a junior professor at the Mannheim Centre for European Social Research (MZES), University of Mannheim 2007–2011. She received her Ph.D. from Uppsala University in 2003 and has also held post-doctoral fellowships at the European University Institute in Florence, Italy (2005–2006), and the University of Twente in the Netherlands (2006–2007).
Bäck's research focuses mainly on political parties and coalition politics in Western European parliamentary democracies, focusing on topics such as coalition formation, cabinet duration, portfolio allocation, ministerial selection, cabinet reshuffles, and policy-making in multiparty governments. She was the former leader (during the 1st funding period) of the SFB project "Strong vs. Weak Governments and the Challenge of Economic Reforms", which is currently led by Professor Wolfgang C. Müller.
